Biotopgarten

Biotopgarten
The 500m² biotope garden was created to compensate for the construction of the lecture hall corridor. It includes a cottage garden with spices and medicinal herbs, vegetable plots from the “Edible Campus” student initiative, a small orchard with old apple varieties, two beehives and natural succession areas, dry grassland, woodland, open water, and riparian habitats.

The biotope serves as an outdoor laboratory for the School of Sustainability and is also a place of recreation for students and staff. The Leuphana honey produced here is extracted in building 14 and can be purchased in Studio 21 or in the Leuphana online shop.
